Department started with 60 seats in B.E. Electronics Engineering in 1986-87. After autonomy of Institute in 2007, the title of degree is B. Tech. Electronics Engineering.
The Electronics engineering curriculum prepares students for lifetime careers as productive and innovative engineers in a rapidly changing world. Students of the program learn the basics
of courses in mathematics, science, and other related engineering courses. They learn Electronics engineering core courses in upper level courses and technical electives. All students have
the opportunity to broaden their academic experience and strengthen their preparation for life-long learning by taking courses from a broad spectrum of programs including Economics, Industrial
management and many other minor courses from various departments. The department believes that these curricular elements and the associated coursework prepare students for successful engineering
careers, perusing graduate study in Electronics engineering.
Department is having four Ph. D. faculty members. Six faculty members are pursuing Ph. D. Department provides research oriented environment for faculty and students. They have earned or pursuing
Ph.D.s in the core field of Electronics Engineering viz.Communication and Signal Processing, Embedded Systems, VLSI, Control Systems etc. Faculty members are having their journal and Conference
publications in the above said areas. They are also guiding B.Tech. projects and M. Tech. dissertations in above said fields. Few faculties are handling sponsored research projects.
In 1947, WCE was founded in Sangli with just over 60 students. Today, it has more than 4,000 students taking various courses in Engineering and Technology. We create opportunities not just for young minds to learn, but also for them to experience the fulfillment that comes from sharing this learning with others. At WCE, we are always focused on delivering education that will help create the leaders of tomorrow’s world – our students will not just be successful in their individual capacities, but will in turn, contribute to and nurture the world they live in.
