The Graduation day holds a place of pride in the hearts of all those who are associated with the WCE as it marks the completion of a significant milestone in the WCE’s success filled journey since its inception since the college got the autonomous status.

Graduation Day Proceeding is a very special event in the WCE student's life and also in the life of the teachers & parents. WCE celebrate this special accomplishment inviting the family members of the students.

The function mainly consists of:

  • Saraswati Poojan at Central Library Garden
  • Grad-walk Parade in the campus,
  • Reception and welcome formalities of the students & their families,
  • Speeches by current graduates,
  • Speech by the Director on behalf of the institute,
  • Awards with Medals to the toppers in each programme,
  • Special awards for best-students who have excelled in subjects and events,
  • Speech by the Chairman, Administrative Council,
  • Speech by the Chief-Guest of the day,
  • Speech by the Vice Chancellor of Shivaji University, Kolhapur,
  • Vote of Thanks to digitories and participants, and
  • Group Photo Sessions of the students & staff.


In addition to the ceremonies themselves, the proceedings on each graduation day begin with the traditional graduate procession through the WCE campus streets. Up to 500 participants, all wearing their colourful academic dress, receive the congratulations of Walchandites as they pass by.

Formalities for the Graduation Day Participation

To make sure graduation day and the graduation award ceremony proceeds smoothly we have made the following arrangements. The protocol also applies to those students taking their master’s examination.

  • The graduation ceremony will take place in open theater of Quadrangle Block.
  • On graduation day you should report to reception Tialk Hall 30 minutes before the scrutiny session begins.
  • A member of the Exam-Cell staff will then call your name for the interview which will take about 45 minutes.
  • The College complex has a variety of places where you can continue your celebrations. It is advisable to inquire in advance about the options and to make a reservation in good time.

In 1947, WCE was founded in Sangli with just over 60 students. Today, it has more than 4,000 students taking various courses in Engineering and Technology. We create opportunities not just for young minds to learn, but also for them to experience the fulfillment that comes from sharing this learning with others.
